In this episode, Cris Rivers & Mændy Mac interview the amazing Roman Dominate, who is a pole dancer, and competitor.
Roman Dominate's Biography:
My name is Roberto Manuel (RoMan Dominate) I started with Pole because my fiance suggested I attend a class with him to try to get my mind off of personal and professional issues that I was going through at the time and I thought to myself why not? My life at the time consisted of my three sons, terminally diagnosed father, working as a Case Manager for a Substance Abuse Recovery Program, home life and my CADAC class.
To say that participating in Pole has done wonders for me, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally would be a huge understatement. I am a Veteran of two deployments who has issues with PTSD, while battling the image society has boxed me into for being a homosexual man.
I have been doing Pole for nearly three months now and I truly enjoy it. It allows me to show off my strength, creativity, self expression and feeling comfortable with my body in public. Participating in Pole has allowed me to improve my body with the physicality of Pole, it has allowed me to be less self conscious of my body, to just enjoy the moment as life too short.
